More than just the friendly neighborhood bar, Pleasant Café is the official oldest restaurant in Maynard. The Pleasant Café has been in continuous business for 80 years, in the same location, operated by the same family. The bar and restaurant is owned by Frank Dzerkacz and his father, Francis, who has worked there for 50 years. While downtown Maynard has seen significant changes, The Pleasant Café has remained the same. “This is a family bar,” said executive chef Paul Armann. “You see generations of families come in. Dads who came in as young men and now their children come in.” Pleasant Cafe serves classic comfort food and has multiple TVs, pool & foosball tables, and live music.
