The Cushing Center MarketPlace includes a coffee and pastry shop called The Cushing Café, a gift shop called Unique Boutique, a greenhouse, and Take 2, a thrift store. All outlets within the marketplace will be staffed by teens and adults with intellectual disabilities. It was created to provide an opportunity for the Cushing Center students to gain job skills and work experience. It will bridge the gap between school and adulthood to prepare the program’s adults for their next steps. Items for sale at Unique Boutique are all made by people with disabilities, whether they be Cardinal Cushing students or outside companies. All proceeds from the marketplace directly benefit the students and programs at Cushing Centers.
